The W4W Bush Retreat’s only purpose is to provide a safe peaceful spot to rest, recharge and recover. Prior to familiarising yourself with the below rules and acknowledging your ability to follow them it is important to first note that the W4W Bush retreat is situated within a private property and a working farm. If you are unsure of how this may impact your visit please ask.
The property owners, Craig & Rebecca Watson, request that you please shut the gates to ensure livestock remain within the property. Most of all they hope you enjoy your stay. Should you have any concerns or issues during your stay, Craig can be contacted on 0467 977 766.
Terms & Conditions
Please read these conditions carefully. Your booking confirms that you agree to these conditions and undertake to ensure their application by any people included in your booking or visiting W4W Bush Retreat as your guest.
Operational Environment, Supervision & Inspection
The site operates as a working farm. While realistic safety measures and hazard identifications have been implemented to protect visitors, environmental and operational conditions are subject to change. Property owners and organisation administrators are not consistently on-site to inspect current conditions or supervise visitor activities.
Entry Statement
- You acknowledge that you are visiting the W4W Bush Retreat as a guest, for recreational purposes only, unless otherwise stated in writing and signed by management.
- You acknowledge that the W4W Bush Retreat is located within the boundaries of a private property that is a working farm, as such you will respect the privacy of the property owner and follow any directions given from time to time by the property owner.
- No illegal activities are to take place anywhere within the W4W Bush Retreat.
- All persons enter the W4W Bush Retreat at their own risk. Walking4Warriors Inc (nor the property owners) accepts no liability for the theft of, or damage to guests’ possessions, including vehicles. Furthermore, due to the absence of admission or site fees, the absolute ownership of liability and personal safety falls solely on the visitor upon entry.
Check In & Check Out
- We have no set hours however recommend arriving/departing during daylight hours for your own safety, given we are a natural bush retreat with minimal additional lighting and are located within a working farm.
- Access codes to the property will be provided prior to your scheduled arrival.
- Please ensure that all gates are left the way you found them for your safety and that of the livestock on the property.

Tariffs
- The W4W Bush Retreat operates on anoptional donation system for guest visits.
- Membership to Walking4Warriors Inc allows utilisation of the Bush retreat and can be purchased from our website, note: complimentary membership is included with your Annual Endurance Challenge registration.
Cancellation Policy
- For all bookings as a courtesy to others who may wish to utilise the W4W Bush Retreat, please cancel or amend your booking as soon as you are aware of your need to change the booking.
- This can be done with our team via email – walking4warriorscq@gmail.com.
Facilities
- We are a natural bush block suited to day-trippers, campers, caravans, tents or swags within the fenced area of the Bush Retreat grounds.
- Located within the Bush Retreat grounds are 2 shade structures with picnic tables and solar lights. There is also a portable toilet, a gas BBQ and designated fire pits.
- Allocations are based on a first in, first choice, however please be concise of the needs of others when choosing your spot.
- If you have any concerns with your visit, please let us know via email or phone within 1 hour of you having entered the site, otherwise it is taken that you have accepted the Bush Retreat and all its amenities as being suitable.
- We require that you leave the Bush Retreat in a reasonable state after your visit.
- Upon your departure, where rubbish removal is required or the Bush Retreat is considered to be unusable due to damage, or its condition upon your departure, the costs to rectify damages will be invoiced to you for prompt payment.
- Management reserves the right to make necessary changes, with or without notice. Please contact the W4W team via email if you have any special requirements before making your booking and/or arrival.
Damage, Breakage, Replacement or Loss
- Fees for rubbish removal, damage, repairs or replacement of missing items will be invoiced to you for prompt payment.
Trees
- The trees in the W4W Bush Retreat are inspected on a regular basis by a competent person, to ensure they are as healthy and safe as far as possible.
- At times, debris from trees will fall. Please be aware of this when setting up/positioning your car, caravan or camp.
- No responsibility is taken by Walking4Warriors Inc (nor property owners) for acts of God involving falling trees or tree debris.
General Rules
- All guests (including pets and children) must be registered on the booking.
- Cars must be parked to not obstruct access roads within the W4W Bush Retreat or the greater property.
- Being located within a working farm, for your safety, please familiarise yourself with the access map to identify the W4W Bush Retreat boundaries and off limit areas of the property.
- Please respect others. Disturbing the property owner, neighbours or disrupting the peaceful stay of other guests may lead to you and your party being required to leave.
- Swearing, excessive consumption of alcohol, use of illegal substances, amplified noise and disruptive behaviour that interferes with the peace comfort and privacy of other guests in the Bush Retreat, the property owner or neighbours, will result in you being required to leave and possible Police involvement.
- Speed limits in the W4W Bush Retreat grounds are strictly 10 KPH. Please keep engine noises to a minimum.
- As we are a non-powered bush retreat, the use of generators are allowed, however please be mindful of other guest when in use.
- Please respect other guest, the property owner and our neighbours by keeping noise to a minimum after 8pm.
- Parents are responsible for their children’s care and behaviour. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult and supervised at all times in the Bush Retreat grounds, amenities, camp kitchen and other common areas.
- No emptying caravan or portable toilet waste on site. Please use the dump points within the Gladstone Region – these can be found on Councils website - RV Friendly Information – Gladstone Regional Council https://www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/rv-friendly-information .
- No smoking inside any Bush Retreat facilities such as common areas, amenities, camp kitchen and other structures. Please also be mindful of others and ensure correct disposal of smoke products.
- Camp fires are permitted within designated areas of the grounds at the W4W Bush Retreat. Please ensure that any fires are monitored and fully distinguished prior to retiring or departing the grounds.
- We are still establishing our grounds and facilities so we ask that your laundry, hammocks or pets are not tied to any immature trees, taps or posts around the W4W Bush Retreat.
- Walking tracks: As a working farm there are existing tracks around the property that you may wish to explore, please stay on the tracks and be mindful of livestock and other wildlife. The Danube Road located just past the property entrance is another good place to explore as it will lead you to Eurimbula National Park through Jenny Lind Lighthouse and further south to Seventeen Seventy/Agnes Water for those keen on a bigger hike (approx 10 hours from the Bush Retreat one way).
Common Areas
- We require that you leave the grounds in a reasonable state.
- Please keep the bathroom facilities, BBQ areas and other common use facilities clean and tidy, to ensure they are suitable for the next guest after your use.
- Modest consumption of alcohol is allowed within the grounds of the W4W Bush Retreat. Excessive consumption of alcohol and drunken behaviour is unacceptable and will result in your eviction from the property and may result in a permanent ban.
- No motorbikes, 4wd activities without prior consent of the property owner.
- No responsibility or liability will be taken by W4W Bush Retreat should any injury arise from a person operating any personal recreational or mobility devices within the W4W Bush Retreat.
Rubbish
- Please remove all rubbish when you depart the W4W Bush Retreat.
- Please place any containers for change in the designated recycling units as funds raised from this program is utilised to support the running costs of the W4W Bush Retreat.
- Please ensure that all items or belongings are to be kept in an orderly fashion within your immediate area.
Pets
- Only the pets included on your booking are allowed.
- Pets must have a handler and be controlled or on a lead, at all times. No exceptions.
- Please pick up pet droppings in a plastic bag and dispose of it in bins.
- Please keep pets away from local wildlife and the livestock on the property for the pet’s own safety.
- Pets are not to be left in a car, caravan, motorhome or W4W Bush Retreat by themselves.
- Pets must not make noise that interferes with the peace, comfort and privacy of other guests.
- Please keep pets out of enclosed communal areas.
- All pets staying in the W4W Bush Retreat are entirely the responsibility of the pet owner/handler.
- The pet owner/handler takes full responsibility for any injury or damage caused by their pet and is solely liable to pay for any claims of compensation in relation to their pets’ actions, including to the property owner, other guests and Walking4Warriors Inc.
Breach of Rules, Terms and Conditions
- Failing to comply with these terms and conditions will be viewed as a break of contract and may result in you being required to leave the W4W Bush Retreat and may result in a permanent ban.
