Boyne Valley Rail Trail hike - Barrimoon to Golembil Siding
Barrimoon
Join us for a hike along the Boyne Valley Inland Rail Trail.
We are planning a hike along the Barrimoon trail followed by lunch at the Grand Hotel in Many Peaks for those that want to stick around a little bit longer.
Starting off from Barrimoon we will head along the trail to Golembil approx 11-12kms. We will have a car to take drivers back to collect their car from Barrimoon. This is a family friendly event. Please come prepared with water, snacks, sunsafety and sensivle shoes. I will carry with me basic first aid, UHF and we will have some fruit, water and a few other supplies at the start for those that may need it.
We will meet at Barrimoon siding at about 0645 to group and discuss the walk safety. Once we are all squared away we will head away at 0700 heading towards Golembil siding.
Depending on the pace and challenges along the journal I am hoping we will be finished by 1000 allowing for a slower pace or sight seeing along the way.
I will have my car at Golembil to take 4 of us back to Barrimoon to collect cars. Given I am not sure how many cars we will need to retrieve I may be able to have a friend assist with the carpooling back to get cars.
Once we are all back to our respective cars and packed up after the hike, people are free to explore the greater BRIT or join us for some social chats, cold drinks and lunch at your own expense at the Many Peaks pub.
If I can get an indication of how many people will be driving and joining us at the pub this will help with finalising logistics.
For those that are still yet to register please do so.
On the day, if technology allows we will use the check in app to confirm attendents otherwise I will have my trusty paper copy of registered participants.
For those more experienced and capable there is additional trails to be explored at your own leisure.
